The Japanese archipelago features some of the most heavily pressured freshwater sport fisheries in the world. Famous venues like Lake Biwa and Kasumigaura host a high density of recreational and tournament anglers, creating an environment where individual fish interact with artificial lures dozens of times throughout their lives. While native Japanese species have evolved under natural predation and historical commercial fishing, Largemouth Bass (Micropterus salmoides) were i

We are pleased to announce the addition of two distinct Japanese tackle manufacturers to our catalog: TIEMCO and Little Jack. Both brands bring unique engineering approaches that complement our existing selection of JDM hardbaits, swimbaits, and saltwater tackle.

Japan's bass fishery is small, intensely fished, and largely clear — conditions that force innovation faster than abundant water ever will. Anglers there ran out of easy fish decades ago, and the tackle evolved to solve a fish that watches a lure before deciding. That pressure-first design lineage is why Japanese bass fishing lures now set the pace globally.

When you need to cover water from the shore, few lure types are as effective as a well-designed metal jig. Long casts, fast retrieves and the ability to reach different depths make them a natural choice when targeting powerful saltwater predators. The Issei Umitao Speed Sardine Jig, commonly known as the SS Jig, is built specifically with that style of fishing in mind.
